Japanese Word of the Day 5 “Application”

今日の単語 / きょう の たんご / kyou no tango / today’s new word:

応募 /  おうぼ /  oubo (“ou” is pronounced similarly to the “o” in “toe” but twice as long)

意味 いみ meaning: application (応募 plus する / suru = apply), often for a job.

例 れい example: 



あたらしい ばいと の おうぼ しました。 いま でんわ まち です。

atarashii baito no oubo shimashita. ima wa denwa machi desu.

I applied for a new part-time job. Now I am waiting for a phone call.
